I don't know if the two events are related but first, my Safari and Switch programs crashed at the same time about a month ago. Any new Safari or Switch I download will not open and freezes up my computer and has to be forced shut. So I switched to Flock browser. Everything was fine.
Two weeks ago, everything got really slow, even when I was typing, with the colored wheel just spinning for minutes on end. Then 2 days ago, it refused to stay asleep. It will shut down, and then turn itself back on, whenever it wants.
I looked around for troubleshooting techniques, and tried to "clean up" as suggested. Got rid of desktop junk, cleaned out unused widgets on my dashboard, checked my activity monitor, systems preferences. It's running faster now, but nothing has changed regarding the sleep function. What can I do now?
If I can't sleep it, is it best to turn it off and restart over and over, or just let it run and burn itself out?
