confIGURE HTTPD.CONF

hi all i am running jaguar 10.3.9 osx i have installed mysql and now want to config my httpd.com in the etc folder i have opened terminal, but cant locate this file although i can find it using go>go to folder, basically i want to allow php as tut :http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/php_macintosh.html and im badly stuck; thx to all who post

To edit the file with pico in Terminal, type this:
sudo pico /etc/httpd/httpd.conf

Then it's ctrl+v to move to next page, ctrl+y to previous page, ctrl+o to save your document and ctrl+x to exit pico.

hi thx for yor reply very helpful i git in and made thechanges as mentioned in the macromedia link but when i go try test a sample php page i get a
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /~lhardie/phpinfo.php on this server.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at reginald.local Port 80 any ideas why i cant view ?? big thx in advance

You may need to go to your Sites folder (in ~/lhardie), and choose "Get Info" from either the file menu or from the contextual menu, and check that the permissions for "Others" are set to read. If so, click "Apply to enclosed items…".
