Confuse about wireless...

I 'm sorry to ask such a stupid question but if I don't ask I wouldn't know right? I have a laptop for a month now and I just got a dsl so how do I do wireless? Do I have to buy something. Do i just turn on the switch and it will connect automatically without wire? Sorry bout this...
 
To do wireless you will need a wireless router to dish out wireless IPs and your computer must be able to receive wireless signals.

There are more wireless router makers than just one. IP routing is not computer specific. The real trick is not sharing you ISP bandwidth with any Tom, Dick or Harry who lives, or walks by your humble living quarters. This is called wireless security.

Now to use a wireless or unwired router with your ISP it must be able to receive the signal coming from the DSL modem. Most DSL modems (check with your ISP) uses the signal mode of PPoE . The setup of a home router (wireless or wired) must be able to receive a PPoE signal.
