Confused with system requirements for OS X

I read the thread below "Absolute minimum system requirements..." then checked the Mac OSX Upgrade Page (http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html).

I noticed a very abiguous statement at the top of the page:
Mac OS X requires a Power Mac G3, G4, G4 Cube; iMac; PowerBook G3, G4; or iBook computer; and at least 128MB of physical RAM. Mac OS X does not support the original PowerBook G3 or processor upgrade cards. Verify your hardware is supported from the list below.
Now in the list is PowerBook G3 Series, USB, USB&FW, G4.

Which one is the "original" PowerBook G3.

I ask because I am wondering if this model (http://www.lespac.ca/cgi-bin/pac.cg...pac_r=powerbook&t=2&v=4&x=-26481&y=16389&p=10) with run OS X 10.1.4

My knowledge of PowerBooks isn't as good as the "i" models. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The original PowerBook G3 was based on the PowerBook 3400. All later PowerBook G3s had a common form fact with the WallStreet version (black with big white Apple logo on the center of the cover).

Also, take note that the PowerBook 3400 and Original PowerBook G3 had a small subwoofer bulging behind the screen... hehe..... those crazy Apple guys... does anybody actually have a 3400 or original G3? Tell us how the sound is compared to other PowerBooks.

Your link looks to be a WallStreet, which is also known as G3 series, not an original G3 PB. Another way to tell; Apple logo is multi-colored at bottom of screen on original G3, the G3 series is white Apple logo.

Actually that is incorrect. The WallStreet series still used the muti-colored logo below the display.

Gwailo,

Hopefully these images can help you tell the older version from the version that can run Mac OS X.
