Connecting to a hidden share on a win server

When i browse the finder and find the server i want to connect to i am presented with an authentication dialogue box on a per share basis. and the box obviously does not display hidden shares.

how may i connect o those hidden shares either via a gui or via the command line.

command + K in finder or Go > Connect to Server

type in smb://computername/sharename

or smb://username@computername/sharename - this should still ask you for a password
