Hi, I've got a graphite G4 Tower, Sawtooth/AGP w/756 Mg RAM, and an ugraded (Daystar) 1.5 GHz processor, and two 80G HDs.
It always ran smoothly is OS 9, but freezes a lot in OS X. Even after upgrading from 10.3.9 to 10.4.7, even after a clean install, even without any programs loaded, it will freeze-up hard on me (cursor doesn't move, clock stops, keys don't work) and force me to hit the power button.
OS X is on it's own hard drive. The computer still works fine on the OS 9 hard drive. It passes every test in tech tool 4, and once I used Memtest to check the RAM, and everything seems to pass. Still, it freezes. I don't know whether it's hardware or software based, and am about ready to chuck the whole thing.
Any hints?
Thanks,
