Controlling iBook fan speed

Anyone know of any files to edit in order to set the speed of the fan or the temperature before the fan starts?

To increase the fuzzy band where the fan starts and stops. Currently, I think the start/stop temperature are very close together (the same perhaps?). So what happens is that at a certain temperature, the fan comes on for 1-2 seconds and then goes off. This repeats for a while and is quite annoying since the fan whines a lot when it is starting up.

By increasing difference between the start/stop temperature, I can get the fan to run longer, and not have this annoying 1 - 2 seconds of fan running.

There was a hack for the 12'' powerbooks to increase the temp-threshold for the fan. However, this hack was just for 12'' powerbooks and sorta used for the 10.3.2 update, which changed that threshold. You might want to contact the developers to find more about such kind of hacking.
