Hi.

I've got a DVD from a concert. I would like to be able to listen to it from iTunes so to convert the sound track to MP3.

I tried to do it with MEncode but it failed (dummy I am!).

Can you help me, please ?

many thanks,
Pierre.

PS: I don't need the video ... just the sound of the concert. I also tried to do it with Yade but ... no way.

I have Mac OS X.2 ;-)

thx

Don't know if this would work or not, but check this website:

LineIn (freeware) may help you out. It also mentioned their forsale app, Audio Hijack.
Basically, you can record any sound into your computer, using the line In jack on your system. Just play the dvd on an external dvd player and use a component audio to headphone jack cord (sorry, don't know the real name) then you can record that sound into your apple. Don't know what format it would be, but there are conversion tools out there for that.
this wouldn't be the cleanest way of doing things, but would be free (if you have that cable I spoke of)

on the other hand, I think Audio Hijack - the app that you pay for - would allow you to rip it from the dvd in your computer's dvd drive...

I don't know if any of these Ideas would work. Just theories. hope it helps.

oops, sorry, Audio Hijack wouldn't do what you want (the "Hijack" part made me think you'd be pulling the audio from a difference source - guess not).

However, Detour reroutes the adio output to whatever source you want. It focuses on sound output, but I'm wondering if it could be setup to route things into iTunes or some other audio player....
