Converting SCSI to USB

I have an old PowerMac 6500/275. I want to get rid of my old monitor (17 AppleVision) and I want to hook up the Mac to my Sony 15 inch. What should I buy so that I can hook up my non-USB comp to something that's USB?

I assume the Sonyt has a built-in USB hub, so you would need a USB PCI card, and you must be running at least MacOS 8.5.1 (which requires the USB Adapter Card Support software), in addition you MAY need a specific manufacturer's driver for the USB card (some are supported by the card support extensions without additional drivers, but YMMV) The USB support software version to use varies with different OS versions, and if you have MacOS 9.1, the support software is already included, and separate drivers may not be needed at all! Of course, you only have 2 slots, and if both are taken, no good news about that. (The available USB-SCSI adapters (hooking a SCSI device to a USB port) would work in the wrong direction for you, SCSI-USB has not been done to my knowledge).

My question is why you would want to go from a 17 inch monitor to a 15 inch monitor? Are you using both at the same time?

Well, I was planning on getting rid of my powermac and 17 inch monitor, then I changed my mind and decided to keep the comp. However I dont want to keep the old applevision because its soo old and dark and not usb. And I just dont need it. i wont be using the powermac often, so when id o need it i was thinking of just hooking it up to the 15 inch monitor (sony) that i use for my G4. I plan on getting a new monitor to replace the 15 inch. My powermac runs 8.0

You won't be able to do anything USB with 8.0, must be 8.5.1 or newer. (BTW, your monitor is not USB, only has an internal USB hub, which you can choose not to even use.)
