coremidi problems os x 10.3.9

Hi

Same problem as mentioned by cY9H3r in Oct 05 (Cubase says it can't load coremidi and MIDI setup crashes whenever I try to open it). I had some M-audio drivers installed but don't use that interface any more. So I trashed anything to do with M-audio and re-started. I also verified and repaired disk permissions. I am using an edirol FA-101 which doesn't require drivers but even when this isn't plugged in the problem persist. Do you think upgrading to 10.4 will solve the problem?
Any suggestions would be massively appreciatted.

Have you tried doing a search for any .plist files or any other files that would be associated with the M-AUDIO device?

You can also try an Archive and Install which will keep all of your apps and documents intact while replacing the system files with a clean System folder and associated system files. Then try and see if that will do the job for you with your new interface.
