Hello,
I have a G4 Sawtooth with a Dual 800MHz processor, 1.25 Gig Ram and OS 10.2.8 that I use for audio. Last Friday a strange thing happened. All the audio played through core audio started badly distorting if I ran Logic audio or Reason or any app with MIDI. itunes and Quicktime mp3's play fine. On start up the white OS X screen with the blue thermometer has digital hash running through it.
I did a complete install of the OS on a new drive and it's the same problem.
I've been an audio engineer and composer for 11 years and I can't figure this out. Pro Tools plays fine as well.
Any ideas as to what it could be?
I've reset the motherboard button, zapped the pram, removed and tested the RAM sticks one by one and the problem is still there. If I boot from an external drive the problem is still there.
I'm out of ideas.
Cheers,
Jamie
