Corrupt user profile - what to do?

Howdy, I believe my user profile is corrupt cos some apps have become a little buggy - IE for example, quits on launch but only when logged in under this profile - not under any other...

Whats the best way to resolve this without creating a new profile and re-installing apps, resetting prefs etc...

sounds like you need to repair your permissions. Boot off your OSX install CD, Go up to the installer menu and you'll see disc utility. Open disc utility and run disc repair first (to make sure nothing else is wrong) then repair permissions on your OSX boot volume. You'll probably find this fixes your problems
