Cool. I've already preordered :).

on the page it says "get jaguar August 24th" and has a link to the preorder, so does that mean we get it on that day?
 
I hope we do but considering that it's a Saturday and I didn't pay extra for the shipping I don't expect it.

I also have it pre-ordered. I opted for the free 3-5 day shipping so i won't get it till late aug or early sept probably. But that's ok. I wanna see you all test it out first. Then i'll know all the problems before installing. :D If any.

Ohh and i got a guy at work to pre-order it. Or i think he did. It'll be his first time using OS X for more than 5 minutes. He's still in 9. ;)

I have two Apple stores I could go to: one 3 hours away, one six hours away.

Comp USA is an hour away, but I don't know if they will have it that day.

It is supposed to be in Apple stores, and authorized resellers (such as Comp USA), on August 24th.

What are the odds are that I will be able to find it in an Apple store or Comp USA on August 24th?

When 10.1 was released, it tooks weeks (and months) in some stores before it appeared.

I want Jaguar that day. Is that unrealistic?

Call up the stores and see if you can-pre order one, or get one on hold, or something like that. That way they reserve one for you. They may also say how many copies they'll get in so you'll get an idea of theres enough to go around.

I like the countdown, although some people on Spymac think Apple stole their idea (they've had one up for a little bit longer).

I ordered Jaguar with 2-day expedited shipping, but I don't know if that means it'll get here right on the 24th. I would certainly hope so, but I don't think *anyone* delivers on Saturday.

I am fairly confident that Apple Stores nationwide would have fresh copies of Jaguar ready to buy on the shelves come August 24th. I'm not so sure about CompUSA stores tho.
 
Just reserved my copy of 10.2 at my local Mac specialty shop, Voelker Research. :D They're doing it through e-mail. Hope I can get it on the 24th. Reason being that the odds of getting 10.1 before on the release date were against me.

It was worth the bike ride, though, in the blasting wind... in the rain... uphill... for around 5 miles...

Actually that pretty much sucked. :D
 
Is your compusa in Raleigh? They didn't have 10.1 for a few weeks. I assume Apple will do better this time but if I was you I'd go to the apple store.

My friend pre-ordered 10.1 with regular shipping (I think) and it arrived the day before it was released. I'm not kidding. It was like Apple knew how long shipping would take and sent out in such a manner as to have the items arrive on the release day. His just happened te get there late in the day, one day early.

We were both shocked. I'll probably pre-order in a bit.
