CPU Monitor stops working in Dock

Showing the CPU utilization in the Dock is great with CPU Monitor (Applications->Utilities folder), but I find that after waking my Powerbook from a sleep, I see only the CPU Monitor icon though a look a CPU Monitor's preferences confirms that it is still set to display the monitor in the Dock.

Has anyone else experienced this, and has anyone discovered a simple solution?

I've reported this apparent bug to Apple.

I have had that happen on both my G4/533 & G3/350, and both are set to never sleep, so the bug isn't sleep related.

The only fix I've found is to open the prefs and switch to standard and then expanded again.
