Cross-platform Authentication Issues

I have a Mac Intel server with mixed client machines and was hoping I could get some help here. I hope this is the right place to post this, forgive me if it's not.

I have a Mac Intel Xserve running 10.4.10, the setting are as follows:
Services running - AFP, DNS, Open Directory, and Windows.
The Windows settings are Standalone Server, no guest access allowed, Unlimited client connections, Authentication for NTLMv2, NTLM and LAN Manager, it is set to a Workgroup Master Browser, Enabled WINS server, and Virtual share points enabled.

I have both Macs and PC connecting in and all of the Macs are fine, but when I try and connect through a Windows machine (XP Prof.) with a user name and password, it will not authenticate and I can't connect. I have to turn allow guest access back on just so they can connect. I have the password type set as Open Directory, and I have tested the user names and passwords using SMB from a Mac and they work fine.

I would appreciate any feedback on this, I am at my wits end, and my windows client are not able to use the server the way they should. Thank you in advance.

Well did you check out the OS X Server reports (go to the bottom of the page for the most recent reports) over at MacWindows. They have some suggestions/fixes that users have reported that may work for you. The site is a good cross platform site to check on a regular basis, in a cross platform work environment.

I have gone over that website and there are a few things that are similar, but not just like my situation, and I have tried what I could. I am working on a post for there as well. Thank you. Any more feedback would be appreciated.
