CUPS printing problem to a server in the DMZ ...

I have a LINUX server running the CUPS printing services, out in the DMZ ... I mean it's "out there", with a static IP. Nevertheless, I set up the 2 printers I have on it so far, and the MAC "sees" them and sets up properly, but when I try to print to them the print queue "PAUSES".

I can print just fine to it from my LINUX notebook, which is wireless and on the "inside" just like the Mac. (MacBook PRO)

Ideas?

I'm trying to get my wife's Macbook Pro so it can print on the network here. My printer services are "on the DMZ" so I can print something back to the LAB from anywhere.

The PRINT SERVER is "out there" on the external side ...
I can ping it, ssh to it ... everything! I even punched a hole in the firewall for the CUPS services. I have even tried turning "OFF" the firewall, to test it. Nuthin' ...

The printer server should be "reachable" from anywhere, and "is" with my LINUX notebook (from anywhere)

I can set up the printers on the Macbook PRO, and it even sees them, and offers up the options available for that specific printer! After setting it up, everything seems fine! It shows up as a valid printer! And then when you try to print to it, it goes in PAUSE.

When you check the reason, it says the printer doesn't exist!

[frustrating]
