curl and proxy resolve problem

I'm having an issue with reseting curl's proxy setting. Speicifically it refuses to do so. At one point I used a proxy and now the thing is moot. So whenever a fink or whatnot attempt to updat themselves via curl I get the proxy resolve error and it fails. My question is where does curl store its config information?
