Cursor Freezing

My cursor is freezing up on me when I let my macbook sit for 2-3 minutes. As long as Im working I have no problem. Its only when I step away from it for a couple of minutes. When this happens my only option is to force quit in order to get out. Any ideas? Anybody? HELP!!!!

Billy- Just a stab at your prob.--go to usr>preferences and trash the system prefs and finder prefs. empty trash can and do restart. maybe just maybe it will work. it will create new prefs. automatically.
