I just got a D-Link DI-514 router for school. It's suppose to Mac compatible but I'm having issues getting my iBook to connect wirelessly. Wired works perfect. When you connect wirelessly, it lets you connect to the router but doesn't let you do anything. You can't access any web sites; you cannot even connect to the router to configure it. Has anyone had any experiences with D-Link products and know of a possible solution? It's an 802.11b router, version b, firmware 1.03 (latest version).

I dug through Apple's discussion and it just so happens that yesterday someone posted a solution to my problems. For anyone having trouble with this/any router, make sure the preamble is set to "Long Preamble". On the D-Link, log into the web interface (over Ethernet connection). Click on the "Advanced" tab and select the "Performance" button on the lower left. Select the radio button next to "Long Preamble" and save. You should now be able to properly connect to the router. The post I found on Apple's discussion board is linked below. Thanks for responding Zammy!
