0S X 10.4.2 using Toshiba PCX 2500 time warner cable connected ethernet cable to d-link DI 624 H/W ver C3. Currently connect to D-link via ethernet cable. Need to network 2 OS X computers via airport cards with a secured network, so that only the two computers can connect and block everyone else. Already set up WEP with a 64 bit encryption. I would like to set up a name and a personal password instead of using A~F 0~9. Is this possible and how do I acomplish it?

WPA provides better encryption and authentication than WEP and is a breeze to set up with a Dlink 624. (I also have one with three Airport-equipped computers securely networked.)

Just go to the 'wireless' tab under the Dlink administration menu. Choose the 'WPA-PSK' option instead of WEP. You can then enter your own alphanumeric password. I'm not sure what you mean by setting up a name, unless you mean the SSID, which you can reset on the same page.

Hope this helps.
