I decided on a whim to follow the guide on ResExcellence to enable colors in ls commands.

Now, as far as I'm aware, I followed it to the letter, but my Terminal is now trashed.

when i start term up, all I get is this:

[Process was terminated by signal 11]

How can I reinstall terminal, or fix whatever problem is causing this?

Help!

Try deleting the lines you added to the config files and see if the terminal runs after that. If it does, then you probably did a typo somewhere.

Same thing just happened to me. Nothing to do with typos. You probably copied over /usr/share/init/tcsh/aliases to ~/Library/init/tcsh/aliases.mine and then tried opening a new terminal window like I did before deleting the entire file and adding the ResExcellence lines. Just delete that file (~/Library/init/tcsh/aliases.mine) from the Finder and use your favorite text editor to create another file, alises.mine, in the same location with the same text as what's in the ResExcellence guide.

Cheers,
Ali
