Today I noticed something interesting. I had noticed that in 4k17 there were some things different at the command line. I had remembered the kernal panicking and telling me version 1.3. After looking at apple's website I discovered that 1.2.1 was the latest release.
To make sure that i was right, i went back and crashed my computer again, (the way i did the first time) and sure enough I got:
version string : Darwin Kernal Version 1.3:
Fri Jan 5 23:25:07 PST 2001
I would expect Apple to release Darwin 1.3 sometime in the near future.
One other interesting thing about it, is that the 1.3 kernal seems to have no driver for the 7500 series. That is what was causing the kernal panic.
