Darwin Streaming Server on Powerbook G4

Hi all,

i'm looking for a solution to install the free Darwin Streaming Server on my PowerBook G4 running MacOSX 10.1.1. I downloaded the source-code and tried a build, but that failed .

I could not find any precompiled binaries to install...

Any ideas anyone?

I believe you can install the Quicktime Streaming Server even if you're running OS X client... Why not download it and give it a try? Or is there a particular reason you want to use the Darwin server?

thanks, yeah some other people have suggested i use qt streaming server too, that it works on osx (client) not just on server like apple said, so im ganna try that n see what happens

Just wondering, what is the difference between QuickTime Streaming Server and Darwin Streaming Server? Isn't it just different since Darwin is Open Source?

As far as I know it's the only difference. I think DSS is capable or running under Windows, Linux, and Solaris, while QTSS is available only on the Mac OS X.
