Dashboard problem

Again me with another problem

I have just updated my Tiger to 10.4.4, the problem is that after the update has finished I restarted and now the dashboard icon in my dock is missing. In fact it is there but instead of being the normal icon it is the white square (probably the OS could not find it), but the application is there. More , dashboard does not work anymore, double click triple click ... nothing, really dead.

I have repaired the persmissions and the machine is an ibook G4 .(12 inch)

that is the problem nothing... (except the spitting of the CD/DVD, but that is "the long F12")....

what happens if you create a new account and log into that one? does dashboard work there?

Well i tried it now. I logged on as a different user but the dashboard is not there still the same boring white square (((
