Data Cd Burning

Hello all,

I have recently tried using the disk copy utility in OSX to create a mp3 disk to play in the new mp3 data car cd players. However, the cd would not play in the player, while ones that I create in nero with winxp play fine. Is there a program that you could suggest, or could tell me how to do it correctly in disk copy?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

MP3's are actually data files. I use Toast, and simply copy the file as a data file. The MP3 car player is really just reading the files as your computer would.

Uh, you know, iTunes makes MP3 CDs ;) You go to Burning under the preferences window, and select MP3 CD. You can also make data CDs and regular CDs with it too ;)

Give us more information, viceroy.

What steps are you taking to burn the mp3 disc?

I do recommend Roxio's Toast Titanium for OS X. It can do CDRWs and faster CDR disc burning. . .

Both iTunes and Toast Titanium make MP3 CD's. I believe you can not just burn them straight to a data disc because they are the wrong format (just like you can not just burn AIFF/WAV files to a CD and expect it to play as a music CD).

I made an .mp3 disc simply by copying the .mp3s, making a data disc. It played fine on the DVD player (the real one, that's hooked to my tv).
