date created / modified preblem!

i know this is my second post near the top of the list, but what can i say, i'm curious... anyway:
in os 9 (in list view), when you shortened the "date created" or the "date modified" tab to as short as possible, the date was displayed in the "mm/dd/yyyy," or whatever date format you specified in the "date and time" control panel... but, in OS X, when you shorten those tabs, the date just gets cut off more and more. does anyone know the deal with this or a possible solution?

the deal with it is that finder list view basically isnt working completely yet. a possible solution is to give apple feedback that you'd like it to.
