Dead MacBook Pro - Will not boot
MacBook Pro 2.16 Ghz 17" 2 GB RAM, 120 GB HD. OSX 10.5.5, Battery is fully charged
After the last time the laptop was used, it was not shut down...just closed with the charger engaged. Later the same day, when opening the laptop, it had turned itself OFF. Restarting, it gave a healthy chime, the grey Apple came up and the grey spinner started. Then the sound of the power, fan, and hard drive went silent and followed by the screen going black. Machine was OFF. Retrying this several times had the same result.*
I tried a safe-boot -> same result.
I zapped the PRAM -> same result.
I attempted to start from the OSX Install DVD -> Same result.
Has anyone experienced this problem? What is the most likely cause?
