Defaults Trouble

When I first installed, I set the TerminalOpaqueness like this:

defaults write com.apple.terminal TerminalOpaqueness .5

Now, if I type the same with a different value, nothing changes.

defaults read com.apple.terminal TerminalOpaqueness reports the new value, but the windows don't change. Any ideas?
 
Yes, I'm not stupid. After I quit the terminal the changes still don't take place. Any ideas there?
 
hehe..

TerminalOpaqueness is the first thing i have found that will bring iTunes to its knees ..

defaults write com.apple.terminal TerminalOpaqueness .9

dragged the newly transparent terminal around the screen.. cause iTunes to STOP PLAYING while i was dragging.. hehehe

plus, it seems as if the transparent terminal is slower than this trick was on the PB. the window gets 'behind' the cursor when dragging.
