Definitively Uninstalling Apps

Hello to all,

Before Christmas I had a need to evaluate some new bookkeeping software on my MBP.

I must have tried some 10-12 apps before settling on the one I wanted.

Each time I installed an application and decided I wasn't interested in using it, I uninstalled it with AppCleaner. Great. Job done.

Recently, however, I've been trying out an app called CleanMyMac and it has dug up parts of apps I thought I had long since uninstalled.

Is there any app out there for Macs that will do a complete root and branch uninstall of an application? A friend who is a PC user swears by a product called Revo Uninstaller that completely removes everything ever installed by a piece of software, which he says keeps his system in a pristine state.

Can the same be done on Macs?

Thanks

Although "completely removing everything ever installed by a piece of software" can be quite important on Windows - it's, by comparison, relatively _un_important on your Mac.
Uninstalling does not often need a special purpose uninstaller on your Mac. Dragging an app, and its folder (if there is one), usually is all that's needed. Other tiny .plist files, etc, would only be interesting to someone on the edge with OCD :D

Give 'EasyFind' a try. Check Files & Folders; All Words; Ignore Case; Package Contents; and Invisible Files & Folders.

Agree w/ DeltaMac, though, as most left is irrelevant.
