Defrag Mac from VPC?

I had an idea - Since I am too cheap to buy a disk utility, I thought about doing this: Share the Mac HD as like M: and then from DOS or Windows, trying to defrag that drive.

Do you think this is possible? If so, will it break anything?

just a guess, but i would think it would break everything. it wouldn't know where to group mac system files for quick access. you could end up with your system scattered all over your drive. but hey, if you are really that brave, tell us how it went.

i don't think that windows can defrag shared file systems.

this sounds like one of those really bad ideas, like pounding your genitals with a rubber mallet. stay away from the PC disk utilities.

NO!!! IT WILL NOT WORK. Well at least... maybe. But then you will have to reinstall your system!
