Delay during startup

OSX seems to take an age to start up on my iMac. I've worked out what the major delay is - the progress bar halts at "Configure Network Time" (or something similar) and sits there for about a minute.

I'm not connected to a network. Any explanations for this behaviour, and can I stop it happening?

Go into system preferences and stop the network ime setting. The reason for the delay is that it is trying to connect to the server even though it doesn't have an internet connection. This is a glitch in the beta I guess.
