Deleted Data Emptied Trash

I deleted a whole bunch of Photo's of my machine and emptied the trash.
Anyone there know of a hack or software, that can help me retrieve my data?
I pretty much shut-down the MacBookPro straight away and I can use my PowerBook to restore to.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
 
If you were using iPhoto and deleted the images, I would check to see if the original images are still in the iPhoto library.

This is the reason I stopped using iPhoto as I found when images were "deleted", they just stopped showing up but the image file was still there. Not good from a data management perspective. Good from a file safety perspective.
