Deleted Emails - Tech Support Screw Up

I'm running OS X.3, and have recently had problem with Mail. I have a Virgin.net dial up account (POP), which stopped delivering new email and was only repeatedly delivering post I had already received over the last month. After a while on tech support, all my emails in my inbox have disappeared, and Virgin couldn't get them back. Apparently they were 'orphaned'? Apart from the Trash, does anyone know where they could be, or if they might still be recoverable on the HDD?

Welcome to the forum, nutthick
Go to home/Library and search for a "mail" folder. How big is it? If you had a lot of mails or some with bigger attachments, this folder should have few mbs. If that folder is too small to contain all your mails, I see no other way to get your mails back.
