I have accidently deleted MAC OSX Applications Directory,.. Which include Dashboard and Settings control Panel//

I can still open my settings by ctl+click on Desktop and change desktop wallpaper.. So i know that its kicking off from somewhere...

Any ideas people on where i might be able to find where they have gone..

Oh.. And i have emtyed trash..

Not really much option other than reinstalling your operating system, or trying to dig through the install CD/DVD with "Pacifist" and try to recover all the applications.

The only way to recover your deleted Applications folder would be to use a file recovery program like ProSoft's Data Rescue. When file are delted, the directory records that point to the data blocks which hold those files are marked as free space, but much of the data still stays on the data blocks until overwritten by some other file. If you want to recover your delted data, do it quickly.....

I'd opt for ElDiablo's answer here. :) ... And: If nothing helps, just backup your data onto an external FW or USB-2 device (you've already done that anyway, right?) and reinstall.
