deleting emails

Hello,

I have recently updated OSX from 10.4 to 10.5 via archive and install,
and I copied the old mails into a new user account.

However, in doing so, "mail"shows all mails twice and I cannot erase them anymore.

Can you help ?

Lets reindex your Mail. So quit Mail then open the application /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and run this command (you can copy & paste):

sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index vacuum;

Once the command is put it. If you have a lot of saved emails it may take a while. It will finish when you get another command prompt.
