deleting programs in OSX

i was wondering if there's any trick to deleting programs in osx? in previous os versions, you have the application, extensions, and preferences.. but what about osx? do i just delete the app?

with a very few exceptions, yes! just drag to trash and let the app begone.

In those other cases:

The library folders can contain a folder for the app and prefs in Library/Preferences. There are three Library folders, System - only Apple touches this one, /Library - resources used across all users, and ~/Library - used per user.
