Desktop edges / windows issues

I use OS X 10.4.11 since it's release and suddenly the dock, windows and my third party software called STICKY WIndows have ceased to function properly.

Holding f11 causes the windows to all close and snap right back. SElecting the yellow reduce button on any window causes it to reduce to the dock and snap right back. Sticky Windows tabs do not work. The dock pops up momentarily on it's own and about 10-15 seconds later reduces and repeats over and over again.

I have run Disk Utility, reinstalled 10.4.11 again and repaired permissions. I have run Drive Genius which like Disk Utility noted that there are no problems.

COnsidering I cannot reduce windows nor can I drag a file to the dock (including the trash), it's nearly unworkable. Been using Macs for 22 years now and I've never seen this happen. Any help would be appreciated.

First find the serial number to the program because we will be resetting the application (that a simple Windows reinstall will not fix on a OS X Mac).

Mosey to the folder /youHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and find the two files com.apple.finder.plist and the preference file for your malfunctioning program and delete them, then reboot.

Upon the reboot first (without starting the program) try a simple drag & drop to make sure it can work. If it does startup your program, re-put in you serial information and see if the program works again. Good Luck.

PS=As an old Mac hand you should have known this simple procedure.

Satcomer, thanks for the misinterpretation and sarcasm. As an experienced human you should have known this simple rule of engagement.

I explained that the behavior of the windows (lower case w) were malfunctioning, not MS Windows! It is quite reasonable to assume that any corrupt prefs were replaced by the reinstall no? The problems do not indicate a corrupt file anyway but a software conflict given that Sticky Windows has also ceased to operate. It's owner (Doneslleschi) has chosen not to offer an opinion a paid user and gets one public BOOOOOO for his/her lame technical support.

Your suggestion Satcomer, though marginally appreciated, did not work.

...and the music from a Clint Eastwood movie begins to play....

I think I'll mosey over to Mac FIXI dot com where the sun is hot and the girls are pretty!
