Desktop organization?


Everything that gets saved to my desktop lines up down the right side of the screen. Then when it gets to the bottom, they just start going right on top of each other (the icons).... is there any way to organize this? I put stuff all over the desktop (drives on the left, shortcuts on top, etc...) but when I restart it's all back over to the right side of the screen, and in no particular order.

Any ideas?

The default organization of the desktop icons is to have them at teh right side of the screen. This has been the case since the inception of the Macintosh. Windows, on the other hand, places all of the icons on the left side of the screen.

What you might want to do is head to the View options on the menubar and set it to not organize your icons. Personally, I love having the icons pop themselves in filetype order no matter what OS I'm in. Different strokes, as they say. :p
