Desktop & Screen saver photo display

I was trying to help a person on their PowerMac G4 tower running OS X Panther 10.3.9 and iLife '05 today, and got stuck.

Basically, the situation is, they've got 2 video cards in the machine, and the second display is mirrored out to a big plasma monitor in the waiting area of their office. He does all of his usual work on the computer using only the primary screen, and uses the second screen to display a "slide show" of photos from various folders in his iPhoto library.

He's been doing this by going to System Preferences, and selecting a folder to display from the "Desktop" portion of the "Desktop & Screen Saver" option, and check-marks the "Change picture" selection, setting it to "Every 1 Minute".

This has worked great for the last year or so, but now that he upgraded to iLife '05, it seems iPhoto 5.0x no longer allows this functionality? When you try to select one of his iPhoto folders of pictures, the "Change picture" option is greyed out and can't be selected. It seems you can only select one specific photo to show as the screen background.... not rotate through them automatically.

Is there some new way to do this that I'm missing here, or could this be a bug?

Thanks!
