Developer's Tools cd?

With mac os x i got the developers cd and installed the software. I'm wondering where i can learn how to use it? because the installed software looks like just a big mess of applications and files, like the library folder =p
any help? In an earlier post i was reccomended to use this.

depending on what you want to work with, /Developer/Documentation/ is a good start

What if i don't know what i want to work with? Well I guess I want to program and I was reccomended to start with java(script?) using an osx app called bluej or (C++?) REALBasic
