Here's the deal: I recently (before I installed X) got a copy of AudioCatalyst (by Xingtech, later acquired by Real, and no longer supported) MP3-encoder.
I'd like to use it in Classic-mode, for I like it's interface and features. But, alas, when I launch it in Classic, it sees neither of my CD-drives. Is there any way to accomplish this or do I need to reboot into OS 9 every time I want to encode? (Bad idea, I cannot get online from OS 9, and AC uses gracenote...)
