Device Names of external drives in the terminal

What are the device names/codes for both a Firewire drive and a Zip drive when using the terminal?

I want to cd to these drives and edit the text files on them using either pico or (shudder) emacs.

THANKS! now for another question. When opening the terminal, the default shell tcsh starts. Why doesn't the shell create a default .cshrc (or .tchrc) configuration file? At least I sure can't ANY dot-config files.
