disappearing files from DVD media

Hi.

Since i instaled tiger (10.4.8) in my powerbook 1,5Ghz 1,25RAM. I have a misterious problem reading files from any kind of DVD media.
When I insert the DVD in the internal superdrive, firts the DVD seems to content all the files it migh, but when I select some of these files with the mouse, they disappear misteriously.
I eject the DVD and insert it again, and the result sould be the same. The files disappear when they are selected or double clicked.
This misterious problem persists with DVD-R, DVD-RW, or DVDfilm commercial.

Another time that this problem perssits is when i try to copy a DVDfilm.
I open the DVD in DVDBackup to copy it to my HD, and some files are not recogniced by DVD backup, but they are shown in the finder.

I tryed to resolve my problem conecting my powerbook to an external firewire DVD writer, and the problem persists, so the problem is not the internal superdrive.
I create a new and clear new user, and the problem persist.

And here is the misterious, i instaled 10.3.4 in another HD, and reboting in panther the problem disappear.

¿Where can be the problem with my tiger?
I apreciate some help.

Hi.

I just done this recomendations time ago.
With no success.

I think may be some in relation with the filenames, because only a few DVDs have problems, and always have long and complicated filemanes.

This is a mistery.
