Disappearing icons/files

Here's a new one.

Yesterday I installed the new security update. Now this morning I downloaded three attachments from entourage, and two jpegs from Safari. Now, I would put this under Internet apps, but it's acutally a problem on my Desktop.

Of the five mentioned files, only one was missing on the desktop. So, I went into Terminal, and changed it's name. It popped up, only to have another file disappear. Changed the name of that to find the same thing occur again, just on another file.

Anyone else experiencing this? If so, we may want to report it in to Apple.

(I'm off to run Disk Util, Norton, and Disk Warrior. I'll get back to you guys if that fixes it.)

Ok, ran disk utility.

There were some directory node issues, which probably explains the missing files.

Just keep an eye out for it. The security update was the only thing that I had changed on my computer to have this issue arise.
