I have a diskwarrior .dmg image that I wanted to try. I burned it both with Toast and Disk Utility and the disk is not bootable on any machine. The program itself works fine, but will not become bootable. Any tips or hints as to why this would happen?

You need to have a system folder on the disk in order for it to be a bootable disk.

The most easiest way to create a bootable CD is to use BootCD
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7957

It will allow you to put what ever utility program you wish on it, as well as the System folder you need.
