Display text and screen look different (larger, rougher)

I'm on a Mac G4 running 10.2.8. My printer (HP LJ 3015) wouldn't work, and after several restarts, my screen icons, text, and overall desktop looks funny (larger font, more jagged).
Is there a way to adjust the look, fonts, etc?

Alos, could I have reverted to a previous system? I don't know what happened, and I am a tech knucklehead.
 
Are you sure it's not just that the resolution has changed? Also, there are some settings in "System Preferences" about Appearance that might help.
