DivX problems

I'v got a DivX movie which I'd like to see. The movie thinks it's an .avi movie, which is ok (I suppose). This of course, makes QucikTime think it's a QT file. I have tried several DivX-players, but none works correctly and now I'm starting to believe there's something wrone with the file..

With DivOSX nothing happends, Cellulo gave me an error and vLc only plays the first 2 second before it crashes. Anyone else has DivX problems of that kind? Is there any DivX-players that wil work?
I have also tried to convert the movie to .mov, but that program also crashed. :(

I'd stay away from DivX myself.. Wait for people to start using real MPEG-4

Mean time, there should be a nice selection of anime porn at your local Video Store  :p

ROTFLMAO!!! :D

To get .avi into .mov : www.3ivx.com.
Download DivX Doctor II and the 3ivx codec.
All of this is on www.versiontracker.com too.

By the way, Quicktime 5 reads the DivX image fine, but most of the time the sound is wrong. DivX Doctor gets this corrected sometimes (66%).

Quicktime 6 should get DivX (MPEG4) right out of the way - when is it getting out ?

Thanks everyone! :)

VideoLAN (vlc) is the only application that even starts to read the movie. None of the others worked. does that mean there's something wrong with the file?

I'd say yes, but if it was readable by one application then it's not a problem, is it?:)
I don't know honestly. vLc plays the two first seconds, and then it crashes. It's not possible to move foreward in the movie either, by click pause first and then chose a random picture..
