DivX with Mac

I installed the DivX codec but doesn't work. I tried a video compressed with Divx and not Quicktime neither Windows Media played it. It said "Wrong type of file". With a movie did the same.
How can I play DivX files with Mac? I should reinstall the DivX codec?
 
Just grab VideoLAN Client or MPlayer, as these play DivX without needing to load the codec separately. You should also be able to play the DivX in Quicktime as well as long as the DivX codec is correctly loaded.
 
These codecs never seem to work, neither do .avi-to-.mov software, and you'd still have to pay for QuickTime Pro if you want full screen.
As Symphonix said, MPlayer or VLC are both great programs for playing non-QT movie files, you can get them from www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com
 
3ivx works great for my mac but i had problems with it in windows.....i just use the official divx code that comes bundled with divxplayer in windows :)
 
Total, I have the exact opposite problem. The 3ivx codec in Windows works flawlessly and plays everything, but the Mac stuff they have doesn't work.
