You'll only need one system 9 installed. Once you boot into OSX, it will ask (or try to find) where your original system 9 is installed. (Be sure its 9.0.4 too)

I was thinking maybe it is safer to have osx mess around with an OS 9 system folder on its own partition, while having a copy on the other partition for backup (along with my data).
