I like my HP 3330, though I don't actually use it as my primary printer. It's a teriffic copier and fax machine, and a good scanner - although the Mac scanning software is kinda kludgy. Pity they don't provide a TWAIN driver.

At any rate, I can say that many people I know with Mac computers and multifunction printers/scanners/copiers/faxes don't really like them -- not the actual machine itself, but the experience under Mac OS X. They seem to function better under Windows, as most multifunctions' drivers are a little lacking on the Mac side.
For around the same price, you can get a separate printer and scanner, and leave the faxing to a fax machine, as it should be. Much less problems there with individual components, plus, if your printer breaks, you can still scan on your scanner and vice-versa.

We have a Brother MFC 5100c, and both printer drivers and TWAIN drivers are available. Works fine, since I scan directly into photoshop. Also, we have an Espon one now, but haven't had much experience with it, yet. We did use it to scan an old picture, using the Epson software that came with it, and it was actually a pleasant experience. It intelligently just scanned and cropped it to just the picture. So I don't know that I would complain about the Epson one just yet.
